It's our second day here at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, BC. Today we're at the Thunderbird Arena at the University of British Columbia (UBC), site of the women's ice hockey tournament.
We're here today to watch the USA take on the women from Russia. One of the American players is from Blaine, Washington, a town just north of Bellingham. And we're sitting next to the aunt of another USA player from Ohio. This is the first hockey game Genny and Clarice have ever attended.
The action was quite good. But the Russians were no match for the USA players. Russia had only two shots on goal in the first period and two in the second. There was lots of great action right in front of us.
The final score was USA 13, Russia 0. That comes on the heels of the USA beating China by a score of 13-1 on Sunday and an 18-0 victory by Canada. This tournament will probably come down to a match up between the USA and Canada for the gold medal.
Once again, getting to the event was simple, although it did take nearly an hour to get through security to get into the arena.
Now I'm off to San Diego for an AUGI CAD Camp before heading back to Vancouver for more Olympic action.
